McCain to Hide Inside Podium at Debate

@ 08:13 AM (13 months, 25 days ago)

In an indication that he is less than confident about his running mate's ability to perform at the vice-presidential debate, Republican presidential nominee John McCain confirmed plans to hide inside Gov. Sarah Palin's podium during the televised face-off.
Sen. McCain had hoped not to resort to such draconian measures, but after reviewing tapes of Gov. Palin's disastrous interviews with CBS' Katie Couric, he reportedly told aides, "Damn it, there's no way I'm letting that doofus take me down."
The Arizona senator plans to crouch inside the podium out of view of the audience, whispering key bits of information to Gov. Palin, such as the names of any Supreme Court decision other than Roe v. Wade, and the names of well-known newspapers and magazines she could pretend to read.
On the Democratic side, Sen. Joseph Biden said he hoped to emulate Abraham Lincoln's performance in the Lincoln-Douglas debates: "That was truly one of the greatest moments in television history."

  1. Dugg. I don't care for cavalier attitude about paying off the bet you lost to me double or nothing months ago. You know the second bet was that Obama would not pick Hillary and he didn't and you lost. I've humored your attempt to claim that Biden would be replaced by Hillary before the election. He hasn't and that wasn't the bet. Even if Biden keeled over today, you know and I know and hell even Mos knows that Obama would NEVER pick Hillary. If you are a man (you claim to be I assume?), the bet will be paid off today. I am no longer amused.

  2. Are you serious? Your own VP pick is saying Hillary is better qualified and political pundits are talking about it like it's a possibility. I'm not pulling that out of the thin air. What happens if I pay up and then THEY do replace him with her? It could be some last minute strategy and is totally within the realms of possibility - and I disagree with you - if he croaked and they picked her you'd lose. The bet was on wether or not she'd be the VP candidate - if her ass is on the ballot next to him that means she is.
I know it's not apt to happen - but it could - and I'd put nothin past THEM.

How bout this - I'll pay off now if you agree to pay me back quadruple if Hillary actually ends up in there.
